• Calling all innovators, creators & makers!

    Let's CELEBRATE citizen innovation, creativity and maker culture in Southeast Asia

    Meet and learn from the experience of some of the most talented and interesting creative practitioners, makers, educators and entrepreneurs in the region. Be inspired as they share their ideas and journey about the community that they serve.

    Get ready to get busy with your hands as we get down to making. There will be incidental hands-on making sessions for everyone to learn collaboratively in a fun and experimental manner.

    There will be ample opportunities to network with the regional participants over the summit proceedings, meals and after-event gatherings.

  • InnovASEAN – Making ideas happen!

    InnovASEAN Makers Summit 2016 is a two-day festival organized jointly by Global Cultural Alliance and the Singapore Makers, celebrating the sharing of best ideas across ASEAN for those who are involved creating, making and innovating. It will be held here in Singapore from 15 -16 October, 2016 right at the heart of Singapore's shopping paradise, the Orchard Road! This festival hopes to bring together a community of makers, inventors, hackers, tinkerers, designers, artists, entrepreneurs and just anyone who creates – to exchange knowledge and ideas, experiment and explore new possibilities.

    This year's InnovASEAN is made up of two components, the Southeast Asia Makerspace Network Summit and the Makers' Block where the public could play and experiment with projects, learn a craft, exchange ideas with creators and catch performances and works by some of the region’s young emerging talents.

    InnovASEAN began in 2015 as a platform for Makerspaces and Makers in Southeast Asia to share ideas, highlight common issues and explore business opportunities across borders. In 2015, 23 makerspaces signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and created the SEA Makerspace network. Since then, SEAMNET has pursued projects to foster relationships across SEA makerspaces and provide business opportunity. This year, we invite makers, creators, artists and inventors to join us in the hopes to Make, Mingle and Meet. We firmly believe in the power of collaborative brilliance. There is just so many things we can do together!

    Now is the time to make it happen

    It is said that to go fast, one has to go alone and to go far, it is better to go together. The Maker Movement has taken the world by storm and Southeast Asia is no exception.

    The InnovASEAN Makers Summit presents an opportunity for the representatives from the innovation, creative and maker space from the region to come together to forge bonds of friendship, explore opportunities for mutual benefits, charting a unique pathway for the creative class to reflect our shared culture and history.

    1. To develop a keener understanding about the state of the citizen innovation, creativity and maker movements in each country and exchange strategies on building financially sustainable business models in Southeast Asia and beyond;
    2. Expose participants to emerging trends, technologies and talents that could be adopted in their own countries;
    3. To share knowledge about the contribution of the creative class to culture building, values & education, entrepreneurship development and industry job creation.
